RAVI GHOSH
Ravi Ghosh is an editor and critic based between London and New York. His current research focuses on US conceptualism and contemporary black studies, extending his M.A. project on the work of artist Cameron Rowland. He holds a first-class undergraduate degree in English from the University of Oxford, and an M.A. in Modern Art: Critical and Curatorial Studies from Columbia University, where he was a US-UK Fulbright Scholar.
Until 2024, he served as deputy editor at the British Journal of Photography, and formerly worked at the Financial Times and Elephant, a contemporary art magazine. He reviews US exhibitions for Art Monthly, and his essays and profiles have appeared in Frieze, Burlington Contemporary, ArtReview, The Royal Academy of Arts Magazine, The Baffler, The White Review, Tribune, Verso, The Economist, The Los Angeles Review of Books, Prospect (UK), i-D, and other publications. Ravi has presented on photography at London College of Communication, the London School of Economics, and the Hayward Gallery, and has reviewed artist portfolios at PhotoIreland, Fotografia Europea, Fotofestiwal Łódź, and the International Center of Photography, New York.
Ravi is the founding co-editor of Insole, a publication of critical writing and imagery. The first issue, which launched at Printed Matter’s NYABF 2025, features essays on Blondell Cummings and Anthony Braxton, and an extended conversation between Charles Gaines and Zoë Hopkins, marking the republication of the catalog for the 1993 exhibition “The Theater of Refusal.”
